During November, Emily placed first in the Long Beach VFW Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Contest and advanced to the district level. We recently learned that Emily placed third at the district level which encompasses all of Southwest Washington. She received $100 for each award. Congratulations! We are very proud of you.
Our 5th grade students have been learning about the sun and moon, why we have seasons, and the measurement of time. Here are some pictures of their recent, hands-on, moon phase activity that involved Oreos and Nilla Wafers.
Each student in our kindergarten class received a free copy of the children's book-"Mealtime At The Zoo"-by children's author, James Willamson. Mr. Williamson is the uncle of one of our students. We could not be more thankful for this very generous gift. Thank you, Mr. Williamson!!!

The district has been awarded a $64,500 Career Preparation and Launch Grant to support CTE programming with Teacher Rudi Rudolph.
These funds will upgrade our robotics equipment to current industry standards (and keep it compatible with modern software) and add 4K video production tools—so students get safe, hands-on experience with the same technology used in today’s workplaces.
More real-world learning. Stronger skills. Clear pathways to local, high-demand careers. 🚀🤖🎥

Due to widespread illness and resulting staffing shortages—including bus route staffing—school will be closed on Monday, February 2.
This decision was made based on updated staffing information received throughout the weekend.
All before- and after-school activities are canceled as well.
Thank you for your understanding as the safety of our students and staff remains our priority.
