This week we are celebrating our amazing educational support staff. Our school district is blessed with some of the best transportation and food service people in the state. Our educational support staff cheerfully and faithfully perform some of our most essential duties. They are also some of our most unsung heroes and the glue that holds our school together. Hello, Naselle-Grays River Valley School District families! We hope that you have enjoyed your midwinter break This is just a reminder that tomorrow we will kick off our REACH Program Passport Club with our 2nd and 3rd grade students. K-1 students will start on on Tuesday and 4-5 students will start on Wednesday.
In order to have your child participate, please fill out the enrollment form that your student brought home and return it to the office (along with a note to stay after school), or download one from the link below and email it to kelsi.nelson@naselleschools.org. At the present time, families will need to provide their own pick up until alternate transportation arrangements to designated drop off locations can be made.

Great news! The roof leak in our school building has been repaired, and the project is officially complete.
Even better, this important improvement was fully funded through an OSPI grant, meaning it came at no cost to our local taxpayers.

We’re launching a brand-new tradition — our official Spirit Rock! 🎨🪨 Located right in front of the school, this rock will become a living display of school pride. Teams, clubs, and student groups can paint it to celebrate victories, performances, milestones, senior nights, Class of 20XX celebrations, and everything that makes our school community special.
This project was made possible thanks to outstanding community partners:
• Rock donated by Burns Construction (Cathlamet) – Les Burns, Owner
• Hauling donated by Valley 8 Construction (Salmon Creek Rd.) – Brent Kragerud, Owner
• Loader services donated by CMF LLC Sawmill (Parpala Rd.) – Craig Fruehling, Owner
Because of their generosity, we now have a lasting symbol of pride, creativity, and community spirit. We can’t wait to watch the Spirit Rock change throughout the year as our students leave their mark.

The Naselle-Grays River Valley School District is seeking applicants to fill a vacant position for School Board Director, District 4.
Applicants must:
• Reside within District 4 boundaries
• Be a U.S. citizen
• Be a registered voter
• Be at least 21 years old by the date of appointment
The Board of Directors plays a vital role in setting district policy, adopting budgets, and supporting the success of students, staff, and the community.

The Spring season has officially begun for our Comets! Baseball, Fastpitch, and Track are underway, and we’re excited to see our student-athletes back competing and representing our school.
This is a great time of year as our teams build momentum, sharpen their skills, and demonstrate the hard work, discipline, and pride that define Comet athletics. We look forward to a season filled with growth, teamwork, and outstanding performances.
FYI: Athletes should ensure all required paperwork and physicals are on file and stay in communication with their coaches regarding expectations and schedules.

Seven local high school students competed in the Washington State Chess Championships in Everett last weekend. These students comprised one of only four 1B teams who qualified for this championship competition. We are proud of these students!
