Dear Key Communicators:

I thought I’d pass along an e-mail about three of our employees that was sent to me today.  Janis Graton and Ditas Baker were taking tickets last night and directed Dave and Wendy Garner, visitors to our school, to Frieda Footh.  The Garners had hit a deer in their new car and needed help getting it drivable again.  If you know Frieda, it won’t surprise you that she tied their hood down and got them road worthyJ

It’s nice to live in a place where people take time to care for others.  It’s especially nice to see it in school.  As I visited classes this afternoon, it was evident that we have teachers and support staff that care deeply about children.  Classes are orderly, yet comfortable.  They are also focused on learning.

Sincerely,

Alan Bennett

Superintendent

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Garner,

Thank you so much for your words of appreciation for our fine employees.  We know we have the best employees in the world, but it’s sure nice to have someone else notice tooJ  I’ll pass the word on to those three ladies.

Sincerely,

Alan Bennett

Re: Praise for your custodial staff member

Dear Superintendent Bennett,

We were visitors to your school district last night to watch the Mossyrock vs. Naselle high school volleyball games.  Unfortunately, our car collided with a deer about five miles from Naselle.  We were not hurt, but our car fender was crumpled against our front tire.

When we arrived at your school, I went in to find help and as soon as I told my story to the nice women taking money at the door they said I was "in luck", and pointed me toward the female custodian.

I am so sorry I didn't ask her name, but she was our hero for the evening. She didn't hesitate to offer assistance: gathering a few tools, walking with me to our car, and helping my husband find what he needed to temporarily fix the problem.  We made it home just fine!

Please find this lady and the two women at the door, and thank them for us... again.

Dave and Wendy Garner
